About Us
Vision
The Clean Air Task Force was formed in 2019 as a Select Committee of Council. The mandate of the Task Force is to make recommendations to authorities having jurisdiction to take affirmative actions that aim to improve and protect air quality in the valley.
Membership
The Clean Air Task Force is a multi-stakeholder Committee of Council
Members are from industry, local government, the Ministry of Environment, Northern Health Authority, and the public.
The Clean Air Task Force is a reporting Committee. Reports with recommendations for actions shall be forwarded to Village
Council for approval, except for matters regarding the conducting of research.
Current Membership Structure
- Village Council – two members (including the committee Chairperson)
- Northern Health Authority – one representative
- Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy – one representative
- Valemount Community Forest/Industrial Park – one representative
- BC Wildfire Wildfire Services – one representative
- One member of the public
Meetings
- Meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of January, March, June and October each year. Additional meetings may be scheduled as agreed upon by the committee.
- Meetings are open to the public, and are advertised on the Village of Valemount website.
- Meetings are held in Village of Valemount Council Chambers, 735 Cranberry Lake Road, unless otherwise advertised.
